The US-Japan alliance is vital to preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific. With China’s rapid military buildup and North Korea’s belligerent behavior, Japan remains the indispensable anchor in maintaining a prosperous and peaceful region that is critical to the security of the US and its allies. Moving forward, how should the US-Japan partnership evolve to meet and defeat the authoritarian challenge?

Please join Hudson Japan Chair H.R. McMaster and Senator Bill Hagerty, a former US ambassador to Japan, as they discuss how to deepen the US-Japan relationship, including through greater defense cooperation, expanded science and technology collaboration, and stronger energy security and supply chain resilience.
