As the United States renews its commitment to space, other countries in the Indo-Pacific region are rapidly pursuing their own strategies and programs. Hudson Institute will host an event to discuss U.S. space strategy and allied space cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. Keynote remarks will be delivered by Artemis Innovation Management Solutions President Dr. John C. Mankins. Dr. Mankins’ remarks will be followed by a panel of experts that will be moderated by Hudson Institute Japan Chair and former National Security Advisor Lieutenant General H.R. McMaster, U.S. Army (Ret.). The event will conclude with remarks from U.S. National Security Council Defense Policy and Strategy Director Dr. Mir Sadat.

The security and prosperity of the United States, Japan, and other democracies in the Indo-Pacific region and around the world depends increasingly on the use of outer space. Security, commerce, and scientific inquiry all hinge on access to space, and yet all have become avenues for competition with China and are increasingly being contested. The future of the Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) strategy depends on military, industrial, and technological development in space by the U.S., our cornerstone ally, Japan, and other major powers like India.
