What’s Next for Afghanistan Peace Talks?

Hudson Institute hosted a discussion on the status and future of the Afghan peace talks. Panelists included Atlantic Council Senior Fellow Javid Ahmad, Hudson Institute Director of South and Central Asia Ambassador Husain Haqqani, American Academy of Diplomacy President Ambassador Ronald Neumann, and Foundation for Defense of Democracies Senior Fellow Bill Roggio.

The panel explored the history and inherent problems of the Afghanistan peace negotiations, the recent stall in peace talks, the objectives of the parties involved —including the goals of Pakistan, Iran, China, and Russia—and the prospect of a final settlement to end 40 years of war in Afghanistan.
