Hudson Institute Launches Cyber-Enabled Economic Warfare Report

__Report examines intellectual property piracy, cyber warfare against US financial services, critical infrastructure; examines possible threats from China, Russia, Iran and North Korea__

WASHINGTON, July 30, 2015 Hudson Institute will host the launch of a new report, "Cyber-Enabled Economic Warfare: An Evolving Challenge," edited by Dr. Samantha Ravich, on Monday, August 3 at 11:30am at Hudson Institute. The report, available here, examines America's economic cybersecurity vulnerabilities and methods for the U.S. government and private sector to recognize, monitor, and defend against such warfare. Leading experts will come together on August 3rd to discuss the report's critical findings in an event hosted by Hudson Institute and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies' Center on Sanctions and Illicit Finance.

Why: As evidenced by the recent massive data breach involving the Office of Personnel Management, the number of large-scale cyberattacks against critical U.S. government and private-sector infrastructure are increasing at an alarming rate. Panel members will discuss the evolving threat of cyber-enabled economic warfare, with a focus on the threats posed by China, Russia, Iran and North Korea, the greatest vulnerabilities of the U.S., and the additional skill sets needed to recognize, monitor, and defeat such attacks.
