As the chief of operations for the DEA from 2021 to 2023, Donovan spearheaded the agency’s global drug enforcement efforts. He is most notably credited for overseeing the capture and subsequent prosecution of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, the infamous Sinaloa leader. He is the most decorated DEA agent in his generation.
