Earlier this month, the Pentagon released its new defense strategy against the backdrop of the ongoing war in Ukraine and as China ramps up its gray-zone campaign against America’s Asian allies. The strategy indicates that the Biden administration will rely primarily on threats of economic and diplomatic punishment, coupled with strategic capabilities, to deter aggression—despite the fact that this approach failed to stop Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. As challenges to the U.S.-led international order intensify, does the United States need to overhaul its approach to defense strategy? Please join Bryan Clark, director of Hudson’s Center for Defense Concepts and Technology, for a conversation with Congressman Mike Rogers on this critical topic.
