Join Hudson Institute Adjunct Fellow Josh Block, nuclear weapons expert David Albright, former IAEA Deputy Director Olli Heinonen, and global smuggling expert Kenneth MacDonald for a conversation on Iran’s continued effort to illicitly procure parts for its nuclear weapons and missile programs since 2015 in violation of the JCPOA, and its use of kidnapping as a means of securing concessions from the West, from cash to the release of convicted Iranian agents in jail for breaking US laws.

Iran’s leadership has proudly admitted to bypassing sanctions, and has used the kidnapping of Westerners as a source of leverage to extort cash, operatives, and more from the West. Just this month, the Justice Department indicated four Iranian nationals for plotting to kidnap an American-Iranian activist in New York. Why do world powers not do more to expose Iran’s hidden money laundering and procurement networks? Will a revived Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) help or hinder Iran’s nefarious behavior? Join Hudson Institute for this important discussion.
