Ellie Cohanim

U.S. Assistant Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism, Department of State

**Please be advised: This event will premiere on this page at 12:00 p.m. EDT, Tuesday, September 1.**

Join Hudson Institute for a conversation with U.S. Assistant Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Ellie Cohanim on the challenges the United States faces in turning the tide on global anti-Semitism. The conversation will be hosted by Hudson Director for South and Central Asia Husain Haqqani.

Special Envoy Cohanim was appointed to her current role in November 2019. Prior to serving in government, she was most recently senior vice president and correspondent at the Jewish Broadcasting Service in New York City. Cohanim arrived as a child refugee to the U.S. after she and her family fled the escalating anti-Semitism in Iran during the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Special Envoy Cohanim will discuss measures the Trump administration is undertaking to support efforts combating anti-Semitism around the world.
