Congressman Don Bacon

U.S. Representative from Nebraska

**This event will premiere on this page at 12:00 p.m. EDT, Monday, July 13.**

Join Hudson Institute for a discussion with Congressman Don Bacon of Nebraska on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2021 and the policy priorities it establishes for the U.S. military. Hudson Senior Fellow Bryan Clark will moderate the event.

From balancing investments in new defense capabilities with the sustainment of the current force posture to modernizing the nation’s strategic nuclear deterrent, the Pentagon faces numerous global challenges. How will the NDAA affect these strategic concerns? How would the bill influence the U.S.-Taiwan relationship, and how does it prioritize U.S. interests in the Indo-Pacific more broadly? What changes does it implement for U.S. troop presence in Germany, Afghanistan, and elsewhere?

Congressman Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District since 2016, following a distinguished 30-year career in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a brigadier general. He serves on the House Armed Services and Agricultural Committees.
