**This event will premiere on this page at 9:00 a.m. EDT, Wednesday, July 8.**

Join Hudson Institute for a conversation with Christopher Yoo, professor at the University of Pennsylvania, as he explores the impact the coronavirus quarantine will have on net neutrality as well as strategies for bridging the digital divide. Hudson Senior Fellow Harold Furchtgott-Roth will moderate the conversation.

As many Americans were required to work from home and students engaged in remote schooling due to COVID-19, the importance of Internet connectivity reached an all-time high. Thus, the pandemic provided an opportunity to evaluate how well U.S. Internet infrastructure responded to an unexpected surge in traffic.

Professor Yoo will explain why the network’s ability to meet this sudden increase in demand provides important insights into the success of U.S. broadband policy and how best to meet the challenges that are likely to arise in the future.
