Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu

India's Ambassador to the United States

**This event will premiere on this page at 12:00 p.m. EDT, Monday, June 29.**

Join Hudson Institute for a conversation with India’s Ambassador to the U.S. Taranjit Singh Sandhu on the strategic relationship between the United States and India, which could be a defining partnership of the 21st century.

With strong bilateral trade in goods and services standing at $142 billion, the U.S.-India relationship is robust. India is a major defense partner of the United States, is at the core of the U.S. Indo-Pacific strategy, and shares support for democratic institutions.

Since 2000, every U.S. president has visited India, most recently with President Donald Trump’s visit in February 2020. Every Indian Prime Minister has visited the United States as well, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s last visit in September 2019. While this strategic partnership between the world’s oldest and largest democracies is robust, it has yet to reach its full potential.

Ambassador Sandhu will lay out why the U.S.-India partnership could be the geopolitical relationship that shapes the rest of this century.
