**Please be advised: This event will be premiering at 12:00 p.m. EDT, Tuesday, May 12.**

In addition to all the atrocities committed during the conflict in Syria, the Syrian people and the international community have been confronted with the repeated use of chemical weapons.

On April 8, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) released the first report of its Investigation and Identification Team (IIT). For this first report, the IIT investigated three prior chemical attacks from March 2017, following thorough and transparent investigation methods. The report attributes all three instances of chemical weapons use directly to the Assad regime.

Join Hudson Institute for a conversation with Special Representative for Syria Engagement and Special Envoy for the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS Ambassador James Jeffrey and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Defense Policy, Emerging Threats, and Outreach Thomas DiNanno. They will discuss the recent OPCW IIT report, U.S. policy in Syria, and U.S. and international efforts to hold the Assad regime accountable for violating its international obligations and numerous other gross violations of human rights. Hudson Senior Fellow Michael Doran will moderate the conversation.
