Hudson Institute will host an event to discuss the increasing influence of Iran in the Middle East. Panelists will include Derek Harvey, senior analysis adviser for U.S. Representative Devin Nunes; former Ambassador Alberto Fernandez, president of the Middle East Broadcasting Networks; and Hudson Senior Fellow Michael Pregent. The event will be moderated by Al Arabiya Washington Bureau Chief Nadia Bilbassy-Charters.

Israel has recently taken a much more aggressive approach in its efforts to counter Iran’s influence in the Middle East. In August, a series of attacks attributed to Israel were carried out on Iranian-backed militia bases in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. The attacks were intended to thwart Iranian efforts to equip its regional allies and proxy forces and are the most recent sign of rising tensions resulting from an unconstrained Iran. Panelists will consider the rise of these Iran-backed militias in Iraq, the threat posed to the U.S. and its allies, and the role that Israel’s upcoming elections will play.

**NOTE: This event is open to the press. All members of the media should RSVP to press@hudson.org.**
