On May 23, Hudson Institute, the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, and George Washington University's Center on Cyber and Homeland Security hosted the conference Qatar and the Muslim Brotherhood's Affiliates: A New U.S. Administration Considers New Policies. Featured speakers included former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Congressman Ed Royce, former Deputy Commander of United States European Command General Charles Wald, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense Mary Beth Long, former National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, and Hudson Senior Fellows Hussain Haqqani and Samuel Tadros, as well as many others.
