On April 19, Hudson Institute hosted a conversation with Oleksandr Danyliuk, Minister of Finance of Ukraine, and Walter Russell Mead.

After the fall of Viktor Yanukovych in 2014, Ukraine’s government embarked on an ambitious reform agenda to tackle corruption and stimulate the economy. The government has introduced an open procurement process, created oversight and enforcement bodies throughout government, and required public officials to declare their wealth and assets. Mr. Danyliuk discussed Ukraine’s progress so far and prospects for further reform.

Oleksandr Danyliuk has served as Ukraine's Minister of Finance since April 2016. He has also served as Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine (2015-2016), and as the representative of the president in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2014-2015). From 2010 to 2015, he was head of the Coordination Center for Economic Reforms, and held a series of senior positions at major investment and consulting firms.
