While the U.S. dominates few industries, it remains the undisputed center of the global market for software and online services. What accounts for American leadership in software innovation? And how can public policy continue to promote our success? While some theories suggest our legal instruments are responsible, others have pointed to specific economic advantages, as well as investments in higher education and research institutions.

On April 11, to examine these and other explanations for American dominance in this sector, Hudson’s Center for the Economics of the Internet welcomed noted technology entrepreneur Alan Dabbiere. Hudson Institute Senior Fellow and former FCC Commissioner Harold Furchtgott-Roth moderated the event.
