Economic and trade policy are an important part of any significant bilateral relationship, and the United States and Taiwan are a timely case in point.

On January 13 Hudson Institute convened a conference on Taiwan-U.S. economic relations to examine, in detail, the priority of current bilateral trade and investment arrangements, the status of Taiwan's ongoing economic development, and the various opportunities and challenges Taiwan and the U.S. will face together in the future–including Taiwan's possible membership in the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
